The Furniture Warehouse secures sponsorship

Right2Work; an award winning social enterprise based in Kendal has secured exclusive sponsorship from Stagecoach for the second year.

Right2Work is run by the Oaklea Trust and provides employment and training opportunities for disabled and disadvantaged people in South Lakeland via their collection and recycling business; giving them valuable work experience and life skills.  The Furniture Warehouse, Right2Work’s retail outlet, is open to the public and offers a range of donated and refurbished items for sale.

The team at Right2Work is delighted to have received the sponsorship for the second year, which helps ensure their collection vehicles keep running. Sue Green a Director of the Oaklea trust comments,
“The funding we receive from Stagecoach is vital for Right2Work.  Not only to keep our collection vehicle on the road, but to ensure that we can continue to help a wide range of people gain valuable skills and experience helping them get into the world of work.  We are grateful once again to Stagecoach for helping us achieve our business objectives and keep the service moving forward”

Stagecoach in Cumbria operates local bus services in Kendal and The Lakes and throughout Cumbria and North Lancashire, offering greener, smarter travel every day for thousands of customers.

Right2Work is a subsidiary of the Oaklea Trust, which helps disabled and disadvantaged people discover their potential and lead a fulfilling, independent life.  Right2Work started as a partnership with South Lakeland District Council to collect unwanted bulky household items, such as furniture and appliances. The project isn’t just about collections; it’s also about recycling and reusing donated items. A number of disabled people also attend the project to help develop vocational and social skills.
